Bonnie Norman Art Award: Bonnie Norman taught many years at GHS and was an avid supporter of the creative process. She rarely missed an art show and encouraged students to value and embrace the art-making process. She spent countless hours chatting with students about all things, but most importantly she listened to them. This year’s recipient exemplifies two of her greatest joys as a teacher, watching a student grow in the areas of confidence and skill and develop their own voice through art.
About the Show: The show includes works by students in Art 1, Art 2, and AP Studio Art classes. It represents a wide range of media including traditional drawings, paintings, prints, graphic design, photography, sculpture and mixed media.
What is AP Studio Art?
AP Studio Art is a college level studio course where students create a 2d Design, 3d Design, or Drawing portfolio of over 24 quality art works. The portfolio is submitted for scoring to the College Board, and with a score of 3 or higher, a student may receive college credit for the course. In addition, students must submit their five best works to the College Board as originals, so their favorites are not available for the show.
Classroom website: For information on all art classes, check out our classroom website at http://glasgow.kyschools.us/olc/teacher.aspx?s=17.
Select the class to see what’s going on in class and make sure you view student work in our class galleries.
