Glasgow Independent Schools strives to provide a safe environment that is conducive to student achievement and classroom management. Each school in the district locks all exterior doors at the beginning of each school day and the doors remain locked until dismissal time. The doors are equipped with a system that alerts the school’s front office when someone would like to enter the door. Once the visitor shares his/her name and purpose of the visit the school employee will then grant the visitor entrance. Schools practice various safety drills with the students throughout the year including lockdown, lockout; fire drills; and weather related drills.
