Glasgow Independent Schools

The GHS quick recall team consisting of Jared Thompson, Olivia Kiser, Dakota Smith, Griffin Botts, Tyler Reid, Barrett Smith, and Jacob Cooper participated in the National Academic Quiz Tournament in Atlanta, GA the last weekend of May with 240 of the best teams in the United States.

The team competed in 10 rounds of competition and finished 5-5 against competition including teams from very large schools. This left them ranked as a very respectable #130 out of 240 teams in the overall competition and qualified GHS for the small school division playoffs.

In the small school division playoffs, GHS made it into the championship game of the winners bracket before finishing 4th in the nation among all schools (26) in this division. Olivia Kiser was identified as a freshman "rising star" by finishing as the 6th best freshman performer out of all 240 schools.
